Native location: North – Central America (USA – Mexico)

Care: Like with all other cacti in spring and summer after 7 sunny days renewed watering is to be done. When the cactus exceeds 15-20 cm, the watering intervals can be extended to 2-3 weeks. Very big balls can stay dry for many weeks without the slightest damage. Because larger plants require larger containers with a greater volume of soil, those also dry up slower. Care has to be taken, that before spending the winter at low temperatures the soil is thoroughly dried up. An all-year cultivation at room temperatures is possible, but then throughout winter watering should continue. In that case it is preferable to just spray the plants.
